UK: Criterion Capital has opened the first phase of the world’s largest capsule hotel under its Zedwell brand, housed inside the historic London Pavilion at Piccadilly Circus.

The property features almost 1,000 individual capsules starting at £30 per night.

Each capsule is soundproofed and windowless, crafted from sustainable oak, softly illuminated, and equipped with Hypnos mattresses, Egyptian cotton linens, smart climate control, and purified airflow systems.

Beyond private pods, the hotel offers several shared spaces including bathrooms, dedicated women’s dormitories, laundry amenities, and secure luggage storage.

Located next to Zedwell’s flagship at the Trocadero, the new capsule hotel expands on the brand’s “cocoon” concept. Further phases will introduce new amenities and guest experiences in the coming months.

Halima Aziz, head of hotels at Criterion, said: “This is an exciting milestone for both Criterion and Zedwell. Our capsule concept introduces an entirely new way to stay in London – affordable, sustainable, and experience-driven. We’re proud to preserve the legacy of the London Pavilion, while opening a new chapter in its story – creating a space where guests can pause, recharge, and connect with the city, with others, and with themselves. Over the coming months, we look forward to unveiling new enhancements and bold ways we’re taking the space to the next level.”
