BWH Hotels GB has added eight new properties to its portfolio as it accelerates growth in the heritage and boutique hotel market.
News of the expansion is part of BWH Hotels’ five-year plan to add 100 new properties and reach 20,000 rooms across the UK by 2029.
The latest signings include the Brackenborough Hotel in Lincolnshire, which is set to join imminently, and the Ashbourne Hotel in North Lincolnshire, which recently moved to the BW Signature Collection from Classic British Hotels.
Other additions are the Clarence Gardens Hotel in Scarborough, Crooklands Hotel in Kendal, Thatcher’s Hotel in Surrey, Kingscliff Hotel in Clacton-on-Sea, Great Hallingbury Manor in Hertfordshire, and the Sure Studio by Best Western Doncaster – a collection of long-stay apartments developed on the grounds of the Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel.
The Brackenborough Hotel, a boutique property located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, features modern accommodation including 19 luxury lodges alongside leisure, dining and events facilities. The Ashbourne Hotel has 36 rooms and is focused on corporate bookings with dedicated meetings and events capacity.
Tim Rumney, chief executive of BWH Hotels, said: “BWH is proving to be the natural home for independents who want to grow. Our Power of Two model gives hoteliers the best of both worlds and that’s exactly why we’re seeing more properties choosing to make the switch.
“In today’s tough trading conditions, hoteliers want a partner that helps turn challenges into opportunities while protecting what makes them unique. Freedom and individuality is exactly what we offer, backed by the confidence, stability and bookings that come with being part of a global network.”
Richard Matthews, director of the Brackenborough and Ashbourne Hotels, added: “Partnering with BWH gives us the best of both worlds, the strength of a global brand with the freedom to retain our individuality. That balance of autonomy and backing is exactly what we need in today’s market.”
The group represents the largest network of independent hotels in Great Britain, with more than 230 currently operating under brands including Best Western and WorldHotels.
