IHG Hotels and Resorts has expanded its voco brand across Southern Europe, adding nine new hotels with more than 1,000 rooms to its premium portfolio.
The latest signings and openings strengthen the group’s presence in France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Türkiye. The move follows voco reaching a milestone of 100 open hotels worldwide since its launch in 2018.
The additions bring the total number of open and pipeline Voco properties in Europe to 57, joining existing locations in countries including Malta and Montenegro.
Among the new hotels are Voco Parma and Congressi in Italy, scheduled to open in the first half of 2026 in partnership with INC Hotels Group, and Voco The 7 – Lisbon, the brand’s debut in Portugal, in partnership with Blue Queen Hotels.
Voco Rome Villa Borghese, expected to open in mid-2026, will mark the brand’s entry into the Italian capital, while voco Valladolid City will introduce it to the Spanish city of Valladolid in 2026. France will gain its fifth voco property with voco Nantes, due to open in December 2028 in partnership with Anolisa Group.
Recent openings include voco Antalya – Konyaaltı in Türkiye and voco Bilbao – City in Spain. Two further hotels – Voco Madrid – Las Tablas and Voco Nola – Naples Vulcano Buono – are expected to open in the coming weeks.
Eric Viale, managing director for Southern Europe, CIS and Georgia at IHG Hotels and Resorts, said: “We are delighted to see voco continue its impressive and rapid growth with nine new signings and openings in some of Southern Europe’s most vibrant destinations. We know our owners care about faster routes to market and stronger returns on their investments. Voco’s flexible, conversion-friendly model paired with IHG’s strong enterprise helps deliver both.
“With demand for premium hospitality continuing to rise across Europe, voco is ideally positioned to meet that demand, resonating with today’s traveller through its signature laid-back spirit and thoughtful design.”
IHG said the brand’s appeal to hotel owners lay in its flexible design and conversion-focused model, which allows faster development with lower upfront costs. Globally, Voco now has 107 open hotels and 102 in the pipeline, with further growth planned in the US, UK, Germany and Australia.
