Australian hospitality group TFE Hotels is set to make its UK debut next month with the opening of The Hobson Cambridge by Adina, a 56-room apartment-style hotel within the city’s Grade II listed Hobson House.
The property, located on St Andrew’s Street, opens on 10 November 2025 and combines restored period architecture with contemporary serviced apartments.
It occupies a site that has served multiple roles over seven centuries, including stables for 17th Century businessman Thomas Hobson, whose name inspired the phrase “Hobson’s choice” and later as Cambridge’s police and fire station.
The hotel’s interiors retain original beams, vaulted ceilings and other historic features, alongside kitchenettes and open-plan layouts designed for both short and extended stays.
Public spaces include meeting facilities and a new restaurant, Oz and Isle, due to launch later in the autumn with a menu and drinks offer aimed at local residents and visitors.
Ray Goertz, regional general manager for the UK, said: “From its medieval origins to its Victorian reinvention and now its 21st-century transformation, The Hobson Cambridge by Adina stands as a living testament to the city’s layered history. We chose Cambridge not only for its heritage but because it is one of the UK’s fastest-growing cities — a global hub where knowledge, culture and innovation thrive.”
Moritz Klein, head of operations for Europe and the UK, added: “By restoring and reimagining this historic landmark, we are not only preserving its character but also creating a contemporary space where guests can enjoy the freedom and comfort of apartment living alongside the service and hospitality that define TFE.”
