Intercontinental New York Barclay, owned by 111 East 48th Street Holdings, LLC and managed by IHG, has announced the appointment of Matthew Davis as its new director of sales & marketing. 

In his new role, Davis will lead the hotel’s sales and marketing team strategy, focusing on driving revenue growth, strengthening hotel visibility and enhancing guest engagement. In addition, he will oversee group, corporate and leisure team business development while spearheading with the marketing team on campaigns, digital initiatives and strategic communications. In addition, he will also be responsible for cultivating and maintaining key client relationships, overseeing large-scale events and conferences and collaborating with the hotel operational teams to ensure sales and marketing efforts are aligned with overall guest experience and hotel performance.

“We are proud to announce the appointment of Matthew Davis to Director of Sales & Marketing,” said Sofia L. Vandaele, general manager and regional director of operations. “Matthew has a distinguished career in the hospitality industry, marked by a consistent record of strategic growth, operational excellence and the cultivation of enduring client partnerships. We are confident that his expertise and leadership will significantly contribute to our continued success.”

Davis joined InterContinental New York Barclay in 2017 as director of business travel & luxury leisure sales, later becoming director of sales in 2020.

Davis began his hospitality career in 1991 and has held key leadership roles since then, including regional account director, global account director for North America, director of corporate sales and director of corporate & group sales. His career journey has taken him through renowned companies such as Millennium Hotels and Resorts in London and Los Angeles, Jumeirah Essex House and more.
