Tokyo welcomes a striking new addition to its skyline this October with the opening of JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, the brand’s first property in the world’s largest city.
Opened on October 2, the 200-room hotel is located within the Takanawa Gateway City development, a new hub for culture, business and innovation built on Japan’s first railway site. Occupying the 23rd to 30th floors of the South Tower, the hotel offers panoramic city views and a tranquil escape above the bustle below.
Created by acclaimed New York design studio Yabu Pushelberg, the interiors combine Zen philosophy with the natural beauty of Goten-yama. Thoughtful details include ceramic works by Tomonari Hashimoto, Kamakura-style cloud carvings, and photography by Sho Makishima, evoking a serene and timeless atmosphere.
Guests can explore seven dining venues, developed in collaboration with Michelin-starred consulting chefs Nishida Kazumine and Emmanuel Stroobant. Highlights include Saki, offering modern kappo cuisine; Kako, serving traditional Japanese dishes with sake from every prefecture; and Sefino, inspired by the Southern Mediterranean.
The property will debut the world’s first JW Mindfulness Floor, featuring the Spa by JW, nine Mindful Rooms, a pool, fitness center, and curated wellness programming focused on restoration and balance.
Just 20 minutes from Haneda Airport, JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo brings the brand’s signature blend of luxury and mindfulness to one of the world’s most dynamic destinations.
