Meliá Hotels International announced it will manage MiM Hotels, the hospitality brand owned by Leo Messi, beginning November 1. The hotels will be integrated into The Meliá Collection, Meliá’s group of independent properties known for their individual character.
The MiM portfolio includes six hotels located in Sitges, Sotogrande, Mallorca, Ibiza, Baqueira Beret and Andorra. Each features elements tied to Messi’s personal concept of hospitality, including the “Messi Suite” and displays such as a signed replica of the Ballon d’Or trophy. The hotels will operate under a lease agreement.
With 26 hotels open or under development in more than 12 countries, The Meliá Collection includes independent properties that retain their identity while gaining access to Meliá’s global systems and standards. The partnership allows MiM Hotels to keep their brand character while joining Meliá’s distribution and loyalty platforms.
MiM Hotels feature designs by Luis Bustamante and Lázaro Rosa-Violán and combine locations in Spain and Andorra with a focus on sustainability and wellness. The hotels include restaurants by chef Nandu Jubany, who incorporates local products with Argentine influences based on his restaurant concept, HINCHA.
Wellness facilities at MiM Hotels include hydrotherapy areas and treatment spaces. Locations such as Sotogrande, Baqueira Beret and Andorra also offer outdoor activities including golf, skiing, and hiking.
Each hotel within the MiM group serves a specific market segment. Adults-only properties include MiM Mallorca, MiM Sitges, and MiM Ibiza, while family-oriented hotels operate in Andorra, Sotogrande, and Baqueira Beret. Some properties also provide meeting and event spaces. All MiM hotels have received LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
“The strength of this alliance lies in the complementarity between the MiM Hotels and The Meliá Collection. Both share a common philosophy and a compelling value proposition for the most discerning travelers—driven by the inspiration of a global icon like Leo Messi and the proven expertise of a leading hospitality group like Meliá,” said Gabriel Escarrer, chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.
