JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in South Florida, owned by Fontainebleau Development, has named Raj Mohan as its new vice president & managing director. For nearly two decades, Mohan has held leadership positions within luxury hospitality markets, spanning global experience that has taken him from Asia and the Middle East and Africa region to North America. In his new role, he will oversee the growth and development of the resort, focusing on guest experience, new business opportunities and the evolution of the resort experience and offerings.

“Raj’s record of accomplishments and his reputation for being a transformational and innovative leader perfectly align with the goals of JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa,” states Fontainebleau Development chief operating officer Philip Goldfarb. “His international experience with luxury resorts and worldly clientele will enhance the already incredible team we have in place, leading the resort to new heights and continuing to be a leader in the southern Florida market.”

Most recently, Mohan served as managing director for Pyramid Global Hospitality’s Saddlebrook Resort, a Tampa, Florida resort spanning 485 acres. Throughout his career, he has led resorts such as the Ritz Carlton in Aruba and Jamaica, and properties throughout China and Hong Kong. His trajectory brought him to Canada, where he took on a director of operations role at Marriott International in Ontario, and later as vice president of operations for Parq Vancouver. Mohan settled in the United States in 2021 as the vice president of hospitality for Penn Entertainment’s Ameristar Resort & Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado.

“I am both honored and excited for the opportunity to lead the incredible team at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry, and support the resort’s continued journey as a premier luxury destination in southern Florida,” he said. “Under the Fontainebleau Development umbrella, JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa has grown to be a leader for leisure and business travelers, while maintaining a reputation of excellence within the local community and the country club members. I am looking forward to further advancing those platforms and taking the team to new heights.”
