Part of the Portside Retail Park development
The new hotel is integrated into the Portside Retail Park project, delivered in partnership with The Burney Group. The site also includes three Drive-Thrus for Starbucks, KFC, and Burger King, two stores for Howdens and Screwfix, an Air Rescue Centre, and eight electric vehicle charging points.
Travelodge Harwich is located close to Harwich International railway station, providing direct services to Colchester and London Liverpool Street. The International Port is six minutes away by car, offering connections to the Hook of Holland and onward access to Rotterdam, The Hague, and Amsterdam.
Guests can explore Harwich’s historic town, with its maritime heritage and coastal scenery. Local highlights include Ha’penny Pier and Dovercourt Boating Lake. Dovercourt Bay Beach is just two miles away, suitable for family outings.
Comfort and services
The hotel features Travelodge’s latest design, including a contemporary reception and next-generation rooms designed for comfort and convenience. Parking is available for hotel guests.
“Harwich is a great example of the kind of well-located, mixed-use project that we are seeking, combining excellent local amenities, transport connections and strong local attractions. This new hotel will support the local economy, create jobs and provide great value accommodation for both business and leisure travellers.” – Tony O’Brien, UK Development Director, Travelodge
Despite a few ventures outside the UK, such as in Spain, the group is focusing its growth on its core market, notably through the acquisition of two properties in England and the construction of a new hotel in Wales.
