Lido House, Autograph Collection, Southern California’s coastal retreat in the heart of Newport Beach, is excited to announce the appointment of Rory Emslie to general manager. A seasoned hospitality leader, Emslie will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operations while continuing to guide the property through its current expansion, which includes the debut of five new luxury cottages, an expanded banquet event space and the launch of the property’s stunning, new Glass House located on Newport Lawn.

Emslie joined Lido House in 2021, where he served as director of rooms, resident manager, and most recently, hotel manager. Under his leadership, the property achieved record-breaking guest service scores, the highest associate engagement ratings in its history, and exceptional revenue growth in its food and beverage outlets. His collaborative leadership style and ability to inspire teams have been instrumental in positioning Lido House as a top coastal destination in Southern California.

Prior to joining the Lido House team, Emslie spent close to a decade with Marriott International, building a notable career across luxury and lifestyle brands. After earning his degree in Hospitality Management, he joined The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, where he quickly rose through the ranks in housekeeping, front office, and guest relations, eventually becoming front of house manager. His leadership was recognized with The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel Leader of the Year award in 2017 and the Marriott Global Discipline Award in 2018. He has also played a pivotal role in major hospitality milestones, including the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Bacara Santa Barbara, and the launch of Evrima, the first Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection vessel, in Europe in 2022.

In his new role, Emslie will focus on maintaining Lido House’s ethos for exceptional hospitality while driving strategic growth, and continue to play a pivotal role in guiding the property through its significant expansion – all designed to further enrich the guest experience and strengthen Lido House’s connection to the Newport Beach community.
