USA, Huntington Beach, California.
October 29, 2025

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa, the premier oceanfront destination in Surf City USA, has announced the appointment of Jason Baer as director of sales and marketing. A seasoned hospitality professional and longtime Hyatt leader, Baer brings more than 15 years of experience in resort strategy, brand development and team leadership across several of the brand’s flagship properties.

In his new role, Baer will oversee all sales, marketing and event initiatives for the 519-room resort. His responsibilities include driving group and leisure business, building strategic partnerships and managing digital and brand marketing efforts designed to raise the resort’s profile and boost revenue.

“Jason’s return to Huntington Beach marks an exciting chapter for our resort and community,” said Jon Benson, general manager of Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. “He is a visionary leader whose proven ability to drive results in Hyatt’s most dynamic markets sets him apart. Beyond his impressive track record, Jason’s genuine passion for people and deep brand expertise uniquely position him to lead our sales and marketing efforts into a bold, innovative future.”

Baer most recently served as Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, where he led the team to three consecutive years of record-breaking group room nights. He played a vital role in the resort’s recovery following the Lahaina wildfires, helping to preserve brand stability and sustain revenue during a challenging period. Baer’s tenure was marked by forward-thinking digital campaigns that leveraged social media, influencer partnerships and data-driven strategies to drive direct bookings and significantly boost the resort’s presence on Hyatt.com. In addition, he fostered meaningful community partnerships with local vendors, farms and restaurants, strengthening the resort’s ties to the Lahaina community and enhancing its reputation as a cornerstone of the area.

Prior to Maui, Baer held leadership roles at Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa and Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, consistently exceeding revenue goals and earning recognition as a Hyatt Elite Performer. He also previously served as senior sales manager at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach from 2015 to 2018 — a return that holds special significance.

“Coming back to Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach feels incredibly full circle,” Baer said. “This resort is not only one of Southern California’s most iconic properties but also a place that helped shape my career. To me, leadership means lighting a spark that inspires teams to push boundaries and craft experiences that resonate long after guests leave. I’m excited to rejoin the team and together ignite new ideas, deepen community ties and create moments that make this resort not just a destination but a true experience unlike any other.”

Baer holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in business management and supply chain operations from California State University, Long Beach, and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. With a reputation for collaborative leadership and strategic vision, he is committed to partnering with his team to develop bold programming and guest experiences. His focus on creativity and community drives plans to launch dynamic activations designed to energize the resort and introduce fresh experiences to Huntington Beach that the city has never seen before.
