Scottish hospitality group Buzzworks has appointed Maurissa Fergusson as property director as the business prepares to expand into rooms and accommodation.
Fergusson joins the senior leadership team with more than 25 years’ experience in the property and real estate sector, covering commercial, retail and hospitality projects.
She previously held senior roles at Scotmid, where she oversaw property, development and facilities.
At Buzzworks, Fergusson will lead the projects and facilities team, managing property development, renovation and maintenance across the company’s portfolio of 22 venues in East, West and Central Scotland.
Buzzworks operates a number of hospitality venues across Scotland under brands including Scotts, House, Lido, The Duke, The Bridge Inn, The Fox, Herringbone and Thirty Knots.
Fergusson said: “Branching into rooms and accommodation is a natural next step for Buzzworks, and I’m proud to be leading this new chapter of the company’s growth. My focus is on delivering a steady pipeline of well-chosen spaces that perform well and reflect the same level of care and quality the brand is known for.”
Kenny Blair, managing director at Buzzworks, added: “Maurissa brings extensive property knowledge and experience that will prove invaluable to our team,” he said. “Her expertise in balancing operational efficiency with guest experience will be instrumental as the business broadens its offering.”
