Hotel management company Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA has announced the appointment of six new general managers (GMs) across its UK and European portfolio.
The third-party operator has appointed Sujith Kattezhath Gopinathan as GM at Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel, having previously worked for the Pilani Hotels Group overseeing three hotels in Derbyshire and Blackpool, as well as with brands including Best Western, Country Inns, Raddison Blu, Compass Group and Ramada hotels.
Meanwhile, Michelle Hickey has been named GM at Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel and Saira Cieloszyk has taken the role of GM at Holiday Inn Southend. Nora Urbancova has also been named the new GM at Hotel Indigo Manchester, returning to Aimbridge after a three-year period as general manager at Ibis Styles Manchester Piccadilly.
Jacqueline Turpin has been appointed as GM at The Harlow Hotel by Accor, having transitioned from sales to general manager roles within Aimbridge in recent years, overseeing the Holiday Inn Express Duxford-Cambridge and receiving internal and brand recognition for her focus on improving quality metrics.
Finally, Frederik Deman joins the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Ghent as GM, bringing experience from multiple GM roles around the world, most recently at the Le Sanglier des Ardennes in Durbuy, Belgium.
David Anderson, president at Aimbridge EMEA, said: “Selecting the right general manager is vital for a hotel’s ongoing success and so, we’re thrilled to see six exceptional leaders take their places at the helm of a number of our UK and European properties.
“Some are new to Aimbridge and others have developed professionally into management within the company, which is great to see. However, they all have invaluable experience and a genuine passion for hospitality in common, attributes that will serve their hotels and teams well, ensuring their respective hotels continue to thrive.”
