Thompson Austin and Tommie Austin are pleased to announce the appointment of Christina Fry as general manager. Fry will oversee the day-to-day functions of the dynamic Downtown Austin hotel duo, including supervising in-house staff, managing monthly and yearly budgets, implementing marketing strategies and beyond.
With more than 13 years of hospitality experience, Fry has dedicated her career to the Hyatt portfolio. Most recently, she served as general manager of Andaz West Hollywood, where she led strategic initiatives to strengthen the hotel’s market position and drive continued growth. Prior to that role, Fry held several leadership positions—including director of rooms and director of food and beverage—at notable Hyatt properties such as Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort and Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa. Her hospitality journey began as a front office agent at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe following her graduation from California State University, Chico, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Administration with a focus in Resort and Lodging Management.

Opened in 2022, Thompson and Tommie Austin introduced a refined hospitality experience to the heart of Austin’s dynamic music and entertainment district. Though distinct in personality, the two hotels are united by a thoughtfully curated lineup of shared amenities, including a 6,000-square-foot fitness center with a rentable sports simulator; a rooftop pool; poolside dining at Arriba Abajo Rooftop Cantina; and two unique ground-floor culinary concepts, The Royale Room and Fifth Street Diner.
