Le Beauvallon — built in 1914, closed in 2008 for a meticulous restoration, and reopened in 2015 as an exclusive-use private estate — is returning to its roots as an iconic hotel on the French Riviera. On April 24 2026, this Belle Époque grand dame, which has hosted everyone from Winston Churchill to Audrey Hepburn, will reopen as COMO Le Beauvallon. The revival brings COMO Hotels and Resorts’ award-winning hospitality to the storied shores of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez for the first time.

COMO Le Beauvallon’s location stands apart, with some of the best views and access to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez on the entire Côte d’Azur. The main hotel commands a hillside position in a private ten-acre estate of palms, pines and rolling lawns. These grounds flow down to COMO Le Beauvallon’s bayside pool, restaurant and beach club. Yacht tenders can be moored directly in front of the property, which will keep tables in constant demand at the new beach club restaurant, Beauvallon Sur Mer.

Hotel guests wishing to explore other pockets of this Riviera location can slip into a speedboat from COMO Le Beauvallon’s private jetty and enjoy a complimentary, eight-minute ride to the fishing village of Saint-Tropez. A second COMO speedboat is also available to take hotel guests to the famous beaches of Ramatuelle and Pampelonne. But few will want to leave the hotel pool, which glimmers like a mermaid’s scales in silvery blue and green tiles — a stylish sanctuary that embodies the refined luxury of the French Riviera. It sits in harmony with another highlight of COMO Le Beauvallon’s bayside gardens: the 2002 Serpentine Gallery Summer Pavilion. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Toyo Ito, the installation was meticulously relocated to its new home in the South of France, piece by piece. Set against the sea, Ito’s masterpiece appears suspended between sky, water, and light — an emblem of poetic modernism, and a striking backdrop to private events, including weddings.

COMO Le Beauvallon’s day-to-night beachside energy brings renewed attention to the hotel’s long tradition in Riviera glamour. At its heart lies Beauvallon Sur Mer, the signature restaurant offering uninterrupted views across the bay to Saint-Tropez. The refined dining experience features a subtle infusion of Asian culinary traditions with the terroir of Provence and the coastal spirit of the Mediterranean. Alternative dining opportunities are available in COMO Le Beauvallon’s main building located higher up in the hillside gardens — featuring all-day dining in the Winter Garden and on the terrace, and a lobby lounge dominated by a stunning installation by Chinese artist Zheng Lu.

That historic building also features a gym and COMO Shambhala treatment rooms, with the quality of holistic therapies derived from COMO Shambhala’s tradition in expert-led, hands-on healing honed at the multi award-winning flagship, COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali. Treatments include massages and facials as well as daily yoga. Hotel guests can also enrich their wellness experience by opting for healthy dining options from the COMO Shambhala Kitchen menus, available both in-room and at the Winter Garden.

The feeling of staying in a private home rather than a hotel belongs to all 42 individually designed rooms and suites, many of which feature highlights from the hotel’s collection of contemporary art built up over decades: more than 300 pieces, including sculptures, installations, and rare objets d’art. All suites, including the headline COMO Suite, have sweeping views of the bay whilst the Hillview rooms face the Provencal countryside. Every guest has access to a corridor pantry they can raid for snacks and drinks at any time of day or night.
