In a district buzzing with creativity, Aarhus takes another major step toward becoming an international hotel destination. With the topping-out ceremony for Moxy Aarhus, the city is one step closer to welcoming a hotel that’s not just about overnight stays, but about energy, community, and experiences.

The construction of Moxy Aarhus has reached an important milestone. Yesterday, a topping-out ceremony was held at RØST, the new landmark building in the emerging Sydhavn District, where the hotel is set to open in 2026. Featuring 188 rooms, the hotel will be operated by Core Hospitality under a franchise agreement with Marriott International.

A new lifestyle destination in Aarhus

With the Moxy brand’s vibrant focus on design, social energy, and memorable experiences, Aarhus will soon gain a lifestyle hotel designed to help transform the Sydhavn District into a lively and inclusive urban neighborhood. “We’re proud to take another step toward opening Moxy Aarhus. Our ambition is to create a hotel where guests, locals, and students naturally meet – a space where design, events, and community are at the heart of the experience,” says Peter Haaber, CEO of Core Hospitality.

Connecting the city’s creative heart

The hotel’s bar, lounge, and reception will be located on the second floor, offering direct access to a large outdoor terrace that connects to Kulbroen – Aarhus’s own answer to New York’s High Line. This will make Moxy Aarhus a natural part of the urban flow that links the city’s creative hubs.

Part of a thriving new urban community

Moxy Aarhus will occupy a central position within the RØST building, which will also house Porter’s Jazz Bar, retail spaces, and offices. Its location in the Sydhavn District positions the hotel as a key player in the development of a diverse business and cultural district in the heart of Aarhus.
