Global hospitality brand Nobu has announced plans to open a luxury hotel in Manchester as part of a £360m mixed-use tower that will become the tallest building outside London.
The 76-storey development, called Nobu Manchester, is being delivered by developer Salboy in partnership with Domis and Nobu Hospitality.
It will include a 160-room Nobu Hotel featuring a spa, pool and wellness facilities, and a Nobu Restaurant and bar offering the brand’s signature Japanese cuisine.

The project also includes 452 branded residences and a mix of retail, leisure and co-working spaces within the building’s podium levels.

Designed by SimpsonHaugh Architects, the tower will stand around 246 metres high on the Deansgate site, adjacent to Viadux 1 Tower, forming part of a connected urban hospitality and residential hub.
Construction is due to start next year, with completion expected by the end of the decade. Domis Construction will act as main contractor.
The development marks Nobu Hospitality’s first hotel in northern England, expanding its UK presence beyond London.
Co-founder Robert De Niro attended the launch event in Manchester, describing the city’s transformation as “something we are proud to be part of”.
Salboy said: “The opening would strengthen Manchester’s position as a luxury hospitality destination, attracting both international visitors and long-stay residents. The scheme is expected to appeal to high-net-worth travellers and investors seeking branded accommodation with full-service amenities. The project represents one of the largest single-tower investments in Manchester’s history and underscores growing demand for international hotel brands outside the capital.”
