Western Sydney has a new landmark. Cabravale Club Resort officially opened its doors with a celebration unlike anything the region has seen – a day and night of colour, culture and world-class entertainment marking the arrival of Australia’s first integrated Club Resort.
The opening drew thousands of locals and visitors, who were treated to traditional lion dances, immersive live performances, a stunning drone display, dazzling fireworks and a special appearance by Guy and Jules Sebastian. The duo spoke about the life-changing impact of The Sebastian Foundation, and Guy surprised guests with an impromptu performance, including his hit Battle Scars.
The event capped a major, multi-year transformation that has reimagined the century-old Cabra-Vale Diggers as Western Sydney’s premier destination for dining, entertainment, accommodation and events.
The festivities began with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony led by The Hon David Harris MP, Tri Vo MP and David Borger from Business Western Sydney, alongside Club leadership, dignitaries and community guests.
Traditional dry fireworks, drums and eight dancing lions then ushered in a new era, before celebrations unfolded across the resort – including VIP dining at Magma by acclaimed chef-owner Dany Karam, immersive entertainment, an international saxophone act and live music throughout the day. As night fell, a spectacular drone show and fireworks lit up the Cabramatta skyline, signalling that Western Sydney has a destination to rival the city.
The resort’s launch follows a milestone year for the Club, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in July with the unveiling of its new name and brand. For President Walter Robinson OAM, the occasion marked both reflection and renewal:
Located in the heart of Cabramatta, Cabravale Club Resort is a destination that brings together:
- Novotel Sydney Cabramatta – a stunning 140-room hotel with a resort-style pool, gym and event facilities.
- Signature dining including Magma by Dany Karam, Bistro 1925, District 8, Horizon Asian dining and Poppy Café.
- Cabravale Event & Conference Centre – One of Western Sydney’s largest event and convention centres, with a 600-seat convention centre also scheduled to open.
- Entertainment experiences designed to keep locals and visitors coming back for more.
The transformation also re-energises the Club’s community mission through Cabravale Community, which supports local initiatives and national partners including The Sebastian Foundation, tackling youth mental health through its Open Parachute program.
This opening marks only the first phase of the resort’s transformation, with further developments already planned, including additional restaurants and a new café, along with a major convention centre capable of hosting events of up to 1,000 guests – positioning Cabravale Club Resort among the largest and most versatile venues in Western Sydney.
From its origins in a modest army hut in 1925 to this spectacular unveiling a century later, Cabravale Club Resort stands as a symbol of Western Sydney’s resilience, diversity and ambition – a new destination built on 100 years of community spirit.
