W Hotels announced the completion of W Hoboken‘s transformation, spearheaded in collaboration with AvroKO. The refreshed property—perched on the Hoboken waterfront directly across from New York City—follows the recent unveiling of W New York – Union Square, the brand’s global flagship.

Social connection begins in the Living Room

At the heart of the hotel, the Living Room embodies the W brand’s signature social energy, transforming from a relaxed daytime lounge to a vibrant evening hub. Here, local character is infused throughout: a wall of metal mesh tubes recalls Hoboken’s industrial rail heritage, while the iconic red arch over the Living Room Bar—which joins Halifax and Sushi by Bou as part of the hotel’s dining lineup—nods to the city’s distinctive curved architecture. A playful, colorful carpet underfoot evokes the rhythmic flow of the Hudson River.

Beyond the Living Room

The hotel’s 223 guestrooms extend the communal spirit of the Living Room, with cozy nooks designed for relaxation and conversation. Each nook is illuminated by a sculptural pendant light crafted from amber glass, polished chrome, and white globes—elements inspired by the form and glow of a lighthouse. Meanwhile, the bathroom mirrors reference the tunnel connecting New Jersey and New York, a subtle homage to Hoboken’s legacy as a transportation hub and industrial port city.

Suites and penthouses at W Hoboken

The 20 Superior Suites feature a dedicated bedroom, powder room, and a living room with a balcony offering sweeping skyline views. The social heart of each suite—the living and dining area—comes to life through vibrant colors, rich textures, and a green glass pendant light inspired by maritime design. The minibar, framed by an arched silhouette, echoes the architectural language of Hoboken, while curated artwork depicting waterfront sunsets adds a layer of warmth.

The Penthouse I and Penthouse II Suites crown the property as its premier accommodations. Penthouse II offers a one-bedroom layout with a kitchenette, powder room, living room, and balcony, while Penthouse I expands the experience with two bedrooms and an elevated residential feel.
