Les Bateaux Belmond has announced the appointment of Maxime Brun as its new general manager.

Brun is responsible for strategic management and operations and for enhancing the guest and employee experience across Belmond’s fleet of seven riverboats in France.

Brun brings extensive experience to Les Bateaux Belmond, joining the company from Château Saint Laurent in the South of France, where he served as director general for the past four years.

Before his role at Château Saint Laurent, he served as director for France at Pink Lady Europe, a non-profit association dedicated to quality, consistency and sustainable values among apple producers. Prior to that, he spent eight years honing his expertise in the sales and marketing teams at Nestlé France, where he developed a strong foundation in brand strategy and customer experience.

“We are delighted to welcome Maxime Brun as general manager for Les Bateaux Belmond. His extensive experience and deep understanding of both luxury hospitality, strategic brand management and of France, will be invaluable as we continue to elevate our guest experience and reinforce our Slow Luxury philosophy. We look forward to his contributions to our team,” Gary Franklin, SVP trains & cruises at Belmond.

“I am delighted to return to Saint-Jean-de-Losne and to join the esteemed team at Les Bateaux Belmond. I am committed to making the 2026 season a success and bringing innovation to guide our journey forward. We look forward to welcoming our guests aboard to share in the generosity of our crews and the true spirit of Slow Luxury travel,” said Brun.
