
Jacqui Jones, programme director for international travel, tourism, events, festivals and leisure resort management at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, has been appointed chair of the Institute of Hospitality’s Cymru (Wales) region.
Jones, a long-standing member of the regional committee, will oversee the volunteer group’s work to engage members across Wales and develop continuing professional development and networking activity.
She will also work with colleagues and partners across Wales to broaden engagement among members of all ages.

According to IoH, her appointment aims to deepen collaboration between education and the hospitality sector.
Jones said:“I am honoured to serve as chair of IoH Cymru Wales and really looking forward to supporting the Institute’s members, celebrating our students and future leaders, and bringing education and industry closer together so talent can thrive.”
Robert Richardson, IoH chief executive, added: “Jacqui has worked with the Institute for many years and understands the needs of our members across Wales. Her energy and passion for educating students for tourism and hospitality careers in Wales have been exemplary, having previously helped form the IoH Cymru Student Committee.
“Her leadership will help members across the region access meaningful CPD, mentoring and networking and encourage students and early career professionals to see hospitality as a modern career of choice.”
