The Manchester Deansgate Hotel has appointed Laura Benefer as director of sales, as the city centre property continues its transition under the IHG portfolio.
Benefer, who takes up the role this month, will lead the hotel’s sales strategy, with responsibility for developing existing client relationships and securing new business as the hotel builds its presence under the IHG brand.
She previously worked at the hotel in 2011, when it was under different ownership, beginning her career in event operations. Since then, she has held sales and leadership roles across several international hotel groups, including Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott.

In her new position, Benefer will oversee the wider sales team and contribute to the hotel’s commercial direction. The hotel said her appointment brought both local market knowledge and experience across global brands.

Benefer said: “I’ve always had a soft spot for this hotel – it’s a Manchester landmark and it holds a special place in the hearts of Mancunians. It’s where I started my career, and I’ve always admired the memories it creates for guests, so I’m thrilled to be part of its next chapter.”
Konstantin Grimm, general manager, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Laura to the hotel. Her incredible experience speaks for itself and we’re looking forward to what she can bring to the business at such an exciting time for the hotel.”
The Manchester Deansgate Hotel is located in Beetham Tower and operates as part of IHG’s UK portfolio.
