Trailborn, an accommodations company with a focus on developing hotels in iconic outdoor destinations, and which late last year entered into a long-term, distribution agreement with Marriott International, has opened Trailborn Grand Canyon, its fifth hotel, in Williams, Ariz., along the historic Route 66 and providing easy access to Grand Canyon National Park.

Trailborn Grand Canyon features a redesigned hotel with a saloon-style event space, restaurant, and family-friendly activities. Since it is the first of its kind in the region, it brings a new lodging option to the area. Williams, known as the “Gateway to the Grand Canyon,” offers vintage diners, western-inspired establishments, and the Grand Canyon Railway, which connects visitors to the park’s South Rim.

“We are excited to bring the Trailborn experience to one of the most visited natural wonders in the world,” said Mike Weiss, co-founder and co-CEO of Trailborn and Castle Peak Holdings. “Since it is located on Route 66, our new hotel and restaurant serve as a base for exploring the Grand Canyon and nearby attractions.”

Inspired by the American West and Route 66, Trailborn Grand Canyon blends historic charm with modern design. For instance, restored elements like the monument sign and saloon-style event space preserve the past, while curated art and vintage décor create a Southwestern aesthetic. In collaboration with design firm Lake Flato, the property now features spaces for games, live music, dining, and private events. Additionally, outdoor amenities include a pool, hot tub, bocce court, kids’ play area, and fire pit.

The hotel has 96 redesigned king and queen guest rooms. The interiors combine Route 66 motor lodge nostalgia with modern features such as velvet headboards, leather-stitched lamps, and walk-in showers. Moreover, amenities include Grown Alchemist bath products, Tivoli Bluetooth radios, 55-inch smart TVs, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Camp Hall, the property’s social hub, accommodates 200 guests for live music, movie nights, and games. Furthermore, outdoor spaces offer bocce, cornhole, and a firepit with s’mores kits. The onsite market sells local goods, sundries, and coffee.

Later this spring, Trailborn Grand Canyon will open Miss Kitty’s, a full-service Southwest steakhouse and bar. The restaurant, a longtime community staple, has been redesigned to retain its classic charm with a modern update. In particular, the interior features dark wood, handcrafted tiles, and desert-inspired hues. Upon opening, Miss Kitty’s will serve breakfast, Sunday brunch, and dinner.

“Trailborn Grand Canyon celebrates the history, adventure, and community of this special location,” said Ben Weinberg, co-founder and co-CEO of Castle Peak Holdings and Trailborn. “Since we worked with Lake Flato, we have reimagined this property to honor Williams and Route 66 while creating a welcoming space for visitors and locals alike.”

Trailborn Grand Canyon offers curated outdoor excursions, including guided hikes, stargazing, and helicopter rides. Meanwhile, nearby attractions include river rafting, go-karts, ziplines, and Bearizona, a wildlife park. Each winter, the Grand Canyon Railway’s Polar Express takes passengers from Williams to a holiday-themed experience at the “North Pole.”

As part of Trailborn’s “Keep Extraordinary” initiative, a portion of proceeds from each booking will support the Grand Canyon Conservancy. The organization focuses on trail restoration, educational programs, and wildlife protection in Grand Canyon National Park.
