Field & Stream Lodge Co. has opened its first property in Bozeman, Mont., marking the debut of the hospitality brand inspired by the 150-year-old outfitter. The 179-room Field & Stream Bozeman is located one mile from downtown, near rivers, trails and ski areas in southwest Montana.
“Field & Stream Bozeman is designed as a comfortable basecamp to hang gear, warm up, dry out, and recharge after a day outside,” said Bill Cottrill, General Manager of Field & Stream Bozeman. “The lodge offers a practical and welcoming space for those exploring the region—whether fishing, skiing, or simply enjoying Big Sky Country.”
Starwood Capital Group and AJ Capital announced the launch of Field & Stream Lodge Co. in 2023. Said Barry Sternlicht, chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital, at the time of the launch, “As we have proven through our creation of W Hotels, 1 Hotels and Treehouse Hotels, among others, today’s consumer has a strong desire to support brands that connect them with the outdoors, and this initiative with Field & Stream will provide them with authentic hospitality experiences. We look forward to partnering with AJ Capital to provide quality, well-designed affordable lodging that is perfect for travelers of all ages and backgrounds.”
“Field & Stream hotels will be a modern take on an American classic,” said Ben Weprin, founder and CEO of AJ Capital.
The Bozeman property includes Mountain Kings, Bunk Rooms and Camper Connecting Suites. Rooms feature peg board storage, mini fridges, wool camp blankets and sleeper sofas upholstered in fabrics from the Field & Stream archives.
Amenities include a 1,300-square-foot indoor pool lit by custom snowshoe chandeliers, an outdoor hot tub and a 29,000-square-foot courtyard called The Backyard. The Great Room serves as the hotel’s main gathering area, with a stone fireplace and seating for guests returning from outdoor activities. A retail area called The Supply Shop sells sundries, souvenirs and gear.
The hotel also includes The Summit Room, a 3,600-square-foot private event space with optional catering packages.
Two food and beverage venues are on-site. Dry Fly Saloon offers all-day dining with a kids’ menu and an “Adventure Menu” for takeout. According to the property, Dry Fly offers “quality, no-frills fare in a setting that feels like home.” Children can earn a free scoop of ice cream by solving a daily riddle.
Next door, The Honey Hole serves as a casual neighborhood bar with darts, pool, arcade games and what the brand describes as “strong pours.” The concept combines elements of a dive bar and local hangout.
Field & Stream Bozeman was designed by AJ Capital Partners, incorporating references to Bozeman’s landscape and to the Field & Stream brand’s sporting heritage. Interiors feature vintage and custom-upholstered furnishings, along with décor influenced by the company’s archives.
