Beaufort House Chelsea announces the upcoming launch of KORA, a casual Mediterranean concept restaurant opening to the public in July 2025. Located on the ground floor of the iconic Beaufort House at 354 Kings Road, KORA is a bold reimagining of sun-drenched coastal dining — balancing elevated flavour, heritage, and understated elegance in the heart of Chelsea. KORA is derived from ‘Kore’ (Greek: Κόρη), meaning ‘maiden’ or ‘daughter,’ the original name of Persephone before her transformation into the Queen of the Underworld. Her myth reflects deep, universal themes of seasonality and transformation. The dining experience is inspired by the myth of Persephone, as a sanctuary of slow pleasures, bold flavours, and Mediterranean soul.

The Founders say:

“KORA is a modern homage to Mediterranean tradition. We wanted to create something rooted in simplicity, generosity, and warmth, yet shaped by a contemporary rhythm. Every detail, from the olive-toned interiors to the sea-kissed flavours, reflects that balance.”

Inspired by fresh, seasonal produce and simple sharing platters, the restaurant champions a menu designed for long, leisurely lunches. Lead by Executive Head Chef Sasha Ziverts, KORA takes timeless Mediterranean classics and reimagines them with creativity and modern flair. At the heart of their cooking is a commitment to exceptional ingredients, celebrating the best of British seasonal produce and carefully sourced imports from across the Mediterranean. Dishes are honest, vibrant, and full of soul — from the starters, including Yellowtail Kingfish, Red Mullet Crudo and Bluefin Tuna Crudo, to the main dish highlights of charred cuts including Dry-Aged Short Loin, Saganaki Prawns, Whole BBQ Turbot and Garnett Farm Pork Chop — all brought to life over the signature indoor fire. The delicate finales include dishes such as Semifreddo al Miele, Feta & Amarena Cheesecake and Tahini & Sesame Ice Cream. Every dish begins with a story of the sun-drenched Mediterranean coast, the scent of rosemary in the wind, and the hands that harvest with care. The kitchen is a reflection of the Mediterranean seasons: bold, restrained, ancient, and alive.
