Award-winning British rum distillery DropWorks is celebrating the start of summer and a very special partnership with the launch of a delicious coconut cocktail which will be a ‘pleasure to create’ for bartenders. DropWorks debuted on the menus of Mildreds and mallow, vegan restaurants known for their exquisite plant-based dishes who have seven locations across London (five Mildreds and two mallows), in 2023 when the brand was first established, marking its very first cocktail listing. In fact, the restaurants were the first people to whom Drops Director, Chris Bryant-Mansell spoke, leading to the brand’s Clear Drop Rum being featured on the summer cocktail menus the very same year. Two years later, DropWorks has been included on mallow’s fresh, new summertime menu which was launched recently.

Clear Drop Rum is the centrepiece of the venue’s seasonal Coconut Daiquiri, complemented by falernum, coconut, pandan and citrus – making for a perfectly refreshing drink for those hotter days. Founder and Master Distiller, Lewis Hayes, who attended the menu’s celebration dinner recently, commented: “We’re incredibly pleased to see Clear Drop included in mallow’s summer lineup. With their outstanding reputation and consideration for every ingredient they select, it means a lot to be part of something so carefully crafted.

“The pairing of our Clear Drop with coconut delivers an exceptional experience, with its rich, nutty-sweet flavour mixing with the subtly fruity notes of our Drop, resulting in a smooth tropical harmony perfect for summer! This really is the dream cocktail for bartenders to create on a hot day.”

Lewis, who has been in the drinks industry for the last 20 years, was no stranger to Mildred and mallows’ status in the restaurant scene, famed for championing quality, sustainability and locally sourced ingredients. These values perfectly aligned with DropWorks’, making them the ideal partner for the brand’s inaugural cocktail listing.

Since first being featured at Mildreds and mallow, DropWorks has rapidly expanded beyond London with successful listings across the UK, including Stray in Manchester and Sister Ray in Liverpool, and is poised to appear in hundreds more venues and bars throughout the British Isles, broadening its reach significantly.

DropWorks represents a significant step forward for British rum. Based in the heart of Sherwood Forest (in the biggest rum distillery in Europe) the brand is on a mission to put the whole spirit category well and truly on the map. With a focus on quality ingredients and a fresh perspective, DropWorks is created for bars, crafted in Britain, and provides bartenders with top quality products every time, enabling them to create new experience for their customers.
