The newly appointed General Managers will oversee NUMA’s operations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and Eastern Europe, in addition to the previously announced General Manager for Italy. This leadership restructuring aligns with NUMA’s goal to strengthen its position in these regions, offering market-specific insights while adhering to its tech-driven approach to hospitality.

Julius Anders has been appointed General Manager for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where he will continue to lead NUMA’s operations in the DACH region. Anders brings a deep understanding of the company’s operational model, having been integral to NUMA’s success in 2024. Under his leadership, the region will continue to expand its portfolio across major cities like Berlin, Munich, and Vienna.

In Spain, Paul Álvarez Gentles joins as General Manager, bringing over a decade of experience in operations and team management at tech companies and international organizations. Previously, Álvarez Gentles was Regional Manager for Southern Europe at the mobility platform Bolt. His extensive background in scaling teams and driving operational success makes him a strong fit for NUMA’s technology-driven hospitality model.

For Portugal, Antonio Fragateiro has been appointed as General Manager. Fragateiro’s expertise in Portugal’s real estate and tourism sectors, alongside his experience at GuestReady Group and Portugal Ventures, will help drive NUMA’s growth in this important market. His multilingual skills and business development background will be key as the company expands across Portuguese cities.

Ladislav Szabo, the new General Manager for Eastern Europe, brings extensive experience in real estate expansion and market development. Szabo has been instrumental in establishing NUMA’s presence in Prague and Budapest and will now focus on unlocking new opportunities in neighbouring Eastern European markets.

Umberto Ottaviani, continuing his role as General Manager for Italy, has been integral to NUMA’s success in Italian cities such as Rome and Milan. His leadership has been key to the company’s expansion in one of Europe’s most competitive hospitality markets.

“Empowering our regional teams through these strategic appointments will boost NUMA to deliver even more seamless, locally tailored experiences for modern travelers,” “By entrusting each market to dedicated leaders with deep on-the-ground expertise, we’re strengthening and further expanding partnerships with property owners and investors, and reinforcing our commitment to operational excellence and guest-centric innovation across Europe.” –  Christian Gaiser, CEO of NUMA Group.

These strategic appointments come as NUMA continues its rapid growth, with over €2.5 billion in assets under management and expansion into 36 European cities across 15 countries. In 2024, NUMA achieved more than 100% revenue growth compared to the previous year and plans continued growth in 2025. With a focus on its proprietary technology platform, which leverages AI to automate operations and enhance guest experiences, NUMA is poised to redefine modern travel.
