Chef Richard Sandoval (Maya, Toro) has launched a loyalty program for Casa Chi in Chicago, his lounge featuring Nikkei cuisine, which is a Japanese-Peruvian fusion. The loyalty program, launched in partnership with OpenTable, lets consumers sign up via QR code and cash in on different perks — including free appetizers and drinks — as their visits accumulate.
“Running an independent loyalty program gives us the ability to build direct, personal relationships with our guests while fostering deeper loyalty and engagement,” Sandoval said. “It also allows us to communicate targeted marketing campaigns, adjust and tailor the program in real time, and optimize rewards and offers without the limitations or added fees that often come with larger chain programs.”
Sandoval said that guests are able to access information about the loyalty program and their profile directly through OpenTable or can join via Casa Chi’s website or social media channels.
On the operations side, Casa Chi employees have access to “robust analytics” to be able to inform future strategies based on how often people visit and interact with the program.
“It’s entirely digital and easy to use, offering intuitive navigation and intriguing perks that keep guests engaged,” Sandoval said. “Plus, because Casa Chi is already on OpenTable, it’s a seamless addition.”
Right now, when guests sign up, they are offered a choice of free guacamole or swordfish dip. After three visits, rewards members can get a free glass of sparkling wine, a gratis chef’s choice sushi roll after five visits, signature craft cocktail after seven, and when a guest visits 10 times, they can cash in on a free “Pour Decisions” Boozy Tea Experience for Two (a three-course shared experience where customers can imbibe tea-based cocktails).
Sandoval said that moving forward, the plan is to enhance the loyalty program with specific seasonal offers and exclusive experiences, and to introduce new features based on guest feedback.
