Capella Hotel Group has appointed three new general managers to lead key properties across its Asian portfolio: Paul Jackson as general manager of Capella Singapore; Andy Lio as general manager of Capella at Galaxy Macau; and Roman Angulo as general manager of Patina Tianjin, which will be the inaugural property of the Patina Hotels & Resorts brand.
Paul Jackson joins Capella Singapore following nearly a decade as general manager of London’s Claridge’s, where he oversaw a comprehensive renovation that balanced heritage preservation with contemporary updates.
Jackson’s hospitality career spans more than two decades across international markets, including leadership roles at Mandarin Oriental properties in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Sanya, as well as positions at Grand InterContinental Seoul and The Ritz Hotel London. His background also covers key markets including Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand and China.
Andy Lio joins Capella following his appointment as general manager of Capella at Galaxy Macau earlier this year. With almost twenty years of experience in luxury hospitality, his career foundation was built in room operations. Since 2019, he has served as AVP – hotel operations at Raffles at Galaxy Macau, where he also held the role of acting general manager for over a year. His career includes leadership roles at the Ritz-Carlton Macau and on the pre-opening team of Galaxy Macau in 2010.
Spanish-born Roman Angulo brings over 20 years of international hospitality experience to Patina Tianjin, specializing in hotel management across many brands. His career includes senior leadership positions at Four Seasons Beijing, Rosewood Hotel Beijing and Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. Before joining Capella Hotel Group, he served as hotel manager at Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona, where he oversaw the operational direction of rooms and food & beverage divisions across both Asian and European markets. Most recently, he was the hotel manager of Capella Singapore.
Patina Tianjin, which opens in the first half of 2026 in Tianjin’s historic Italian Heritage District, is an 18,000 square metre property featuring 17 heritage buildings with 145 guest rooms oriented around private garden courtyards.
