The Captain’s Club Hotel and Spa in Christchurch, Dorset, has been brought to market on a freehold basis for an undisclosed sum.
The four-star riverside hotel, located on Wick Lane beside the River Stour, has 17 guest bedrooms, including 12 two- and three-bedroom suites with private lounge areas. It also features a spa with a hydrotherapy pool, sauna, treatment rooms and a sun terrace.
The site includes a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, the Quay Bar, and event facilities for up to 100 guests. The hotel, which has been independently operated for a number of years, attracts both domestic and international visitors, as well as corporate and events business.
Planning consent has also been secured for 29 additional bedrooms and seven suites, which provides scope for expansion to the potential buyer.
Ed Bellfield, regional director at Christie and Co, who is handling the sale, said: “This is a unique opportunity to acquire a well-known, highly profitable trading hotel and spa business in the picturesque waterside setting of Christchurch, Dorset, with the potential to increase future income via implementing the current planning permission for an additional 29 bedrooms.”
