One of Belfast’s best-known hotels, The Malone, is nearing completion of an 18-month refurbishment as it marks 35 years in business.
Located off the Lisburn and Malone roads in south Belfast, the four-star hotel will reopen fully in February 2026 with 103 bedrooms following a full redesign of its rooms, bar and restaurant.
The project has included the expansion of its restaurant and an overhaul of all public areas and bedrooms. The venue features original Victorian townhouses and a 240-guest ballroom, and also offers 70 off-street parking spaces.
To support operations after the redevelopment, the Malone has entered a management partnership with UK-based Focus Hotels, which runs a portfolio of boutique and branded properties across the country.
The refurbishment is due to complete in early 2026, with a formal reopening event planned to mark the completion of the project.
Director Gareth Macklin said: “This is the most exciting chapter yet in the Malone’s story. We’ve always been proud of our heritage and our people, but this transformation takes everything to a new level.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming back familiar faces and introducing a new audience to the scale, style and service of the Malone.”
