Choice Hotels Asia-Pac has introduced MainStay Suites to Australia, partnering with Extended STAY Australasia on seven initial properties in the upper-midscale, extended-stay segment.
“Bringing MainStay Suites to Australia strengthens our presence and supports our growth strategy and international footprint. We’re proud to offer tailored solutions for corporate and government travellers, as well as project-based workers, providing the ability to stay for weeks, months or longer without sacrificing comfort or convenience,” said Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO Trent Fraser.
Extended STAY Australasia, led by Paul Constantinou AM, will manage operations, applying its experience in extended-stay accommodation. MainStay Suites properties provide apartment-style living with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, laundry facilities, and dedicated workspaces, supporting guests’ routines. Typical guests include Fly-In Fly-Out workers, healthcare professionals, and relocating families.
“MainStay Suites is more than just a place to stay—it’s about giving guests the flexibility and comfort they need while away from home. With our ‘Live Like Home’ experience, we’re offering long-stay travellers a convenient and comfortable alternative to traditional hotels,” said Paul Constantinou AM, chairman, Extended STAY Australasia.
MainStay Suites is part of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac’s portfolio, which spans midscale, upscale, and economy segments, now extending into extended stay. All properties participate in Choice Privileges, the loyalty program that allows members to earn and redeem points at over 7,100 hotels worldwide.
For investors and developers, MainStay Suites offers a turnkey opportunity to enter the extended-stay sector, suitable for both new builds and conversions, supported by Choice Hotels’ infrastructure and regional expertise.
The launch in Australia marks the beginning of further expansion into key regional hubs and transport corridors, meeting demand for long-term, flexible accommodation.
