Strategic partnership for talent development
Meliá Hotels International and Les Roches have signed an agreement to integrate a tailored curriculum into the school’s bachelor, master, and postgraduate programs.
The “Meliá Future Talent” Program, co-funded by Meliá, Les Roches, and the students themselves, ensures hands-on experience at Meliá properties and a minimum three-year professional commitment after completing the program.
“Our strategic partnership with Meliá Hotels International opens a new framework for collaboration between academic institutions and companies, ensuring a steady flow of professionals trained according to the real needs of the market.” – Carlos Díez de la Lastra, PDG, Les Roches
“This partnership will allow us to cultivate a new generation of talent, trained both to a high standard and in line with the strategic requirements of our group, with a global mindset suited to today’s hospitality sector.” – Gabriel Escarrer, PDG, Meliá Hotels International
Integrated and practice-oriented program
The program allows students to follow Meliá-specific modules while remaining part of the general Les Roches curriculum. All practical internships are conducted exclusively at Meliá hotels worldwide.
This structure ensures participants gain early exposure to the group’s culture, standards, and operational methods. “Thanks to this collaboration with Les Roches, we strengthen our capacity to attract and retain professionals who will shape Meliá’s future” underlines Gabriel Escarrer.

Shared values and accredited training
The program is founded on shared values of integrity, sustainability, respect, and responsibility. It is accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Council and NECHE, confirming academic quality and alignment with international standards.
This initiative reflects Meliá and Les Roches’ goal to create a scalable training model for other markets, preparing professionals aligned with operational and strategic requirements across the global hospitality sector.
The program demonstrates the trend of hotel groups directly investing in workforce training to secure talent aligned with their strategies. A strategy made even more crucial at a time when talent shortages remain a central challenge for the hospitality sector, although solutions are available for hoteliers, as highlighted in the latest issue of our magazine.
