A new life for the Pacific hotel
The historic building, located between the vibrant St. Pauli and Sternschanze districts, will be expanded from 52 to 110 rooms using CityHub’s modular “Hub” concept. This approach optimizes space while providing private rooms alongside shared amenities, including premium bathrooms and a communal hangout area for guests.
“Hamburg is one of Germany’s most dynamic destinations, making it the perfect site for our next European expansion. Our goal is to build a network of CityHub hotels in key cities, offering travelers a modern experience combining privacy, technology, and accessible rates. Hamburg’s growth, cultural diversity, and urban development make this market ideal for our first German hotel.” – Remco Gerritsen, CEO of CityHub
Focus on adaptive reuse and sustainability
The project emphasizes repurposing the existing building rather than constructing a new one. This strategy reduces development costs and timelines while lowering the carbon footprint and contributing to circular urban development.
“We wanted a project that is sustainable and long-lasting. CityHub’s model convinced us with its efficiency and ability to revitalize traditional hotel properties.” – Helmut Köhler de Kohler & von Bargen, investisseur et développeur local
Construction and redevelopment work on CityHub Hamburg is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025, with an opening planned for 2027.
Strategic location for tourism and culture
CityHub Hamburg is centrally located near the main train station and iconic neighborhood venues such as the Star-Club and Kaiserkeller, providing convenient access to transport and local attractions.
The brand combines cultural heritage with contemporary design and smart technology to meet the expectations of modern travelers.
