The Hampton Hotel on Corstorphine Road, in Edinburgh, has officially been sold to Scotsman Group for an undisclosed sum.
Located opposite Murrayfield Stadium, the Georgian townhouse includes a pub-restaurant and six en-suite letting rooms. It has been a longstanding favourite among locals, sports fans and visitors.
The property was previously owned by brewer and pub operator Greene King before being acquired by Scotsman Group. The buyer plans to relaunch the site with a whisky-led hospitality concept alongside hotel accommodation.
Simon Watson, senior business agent at Christie and Co, who handled the sale, said: “It’s not every day you get the opportunity to sell the freehold and then bring in a new operator back-to-back within just two weeks of marketing. This demonstrates the level of expertise and professionalism we can offer when selling businesses.
“There is still huge demand for hospitality businesses in Scotland, and the sector continues to perform well year-on-year.”
Established in 1990, Scotsman Group operates a portfolio of over 40 hotels, restaurants, cinemas and bars across Scotland. Its venues range from fine-dining establishments to accommodation and event spaces.
