Strand Palace in London is set to open a £2m meetings and events facility on 10 November, marking the latest phase of its £55m refurbishment programme.
The Covent Garden hotel, which dates back more than 115 years, has added 12 new meeting and event spaces, bringing the total on site to 16. The development follows the renovation of public areas, guest rooms and the building’s Art Deco façade, completed in 2020.
The new facilities combine modern design with the hotel’s historic features, and include advanced audiovisual technology, a dedicated support team and bespoke catering options.
Managing director Matthew Beard said: “Our goal was to honour Strand Palace’s heritage while redefining it for today’s guest. The launch of our 12 new spaces is set to offer our corporate and leisure guests the best possible experience for their events right here in the heart of London.
“Following the hotel’s multi-million-pound refurbishment of all 788 bedrooms, Haxells Restaurant and Bar, The Palace Tea Parlour and 1909 private dining room, we’re excited to announce the launch of this new chapter of Strand Palace.”
Strand Palace, part of the L+R Hotels portfolio, first opened in 1909 and has since hosted guests through three monarchs and two world wars. The hotel continues to cater to business and leisure travellers, with recent upgrades aimed at strengthening its position in London’s hospitality market.
L+R Hotels is a privately-owned global hotel investment and operating company with an extensive portfolio of more than 112 hotels, with 22,000 bedrooms across the UK, Europe, the US, and the Caribbean.
