Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and Higuerón Developments today announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Marbella, bringing the iconic Waldorf Astoria brand to Spain’s Malaga Province. Opening in 2029, the new resort will offer a contemporary expression of Marbella’s Andalusian setting, reflecting Waldorf Astoria’s signature design ethos and service throughout. Guests will also experience the brand’s Personal Concierge.
Waldorf Astoria Marbella will offer 120 guest rooms and suites, as well as 120 branded residences, designed to balance residential comfort with the brand’s signature service, set against Marbella’s Mediterranean coastline. The hotel will feature a unique design created by three Pritzker Prize-winning architects, who are currently working on its conceptual design competition.
Guests will enjoy a collection of distinctive dining experiences at Waldorf Astoria Marbella, including the brand’s iconic Peacock Alley, a stylish Lobby Bar, a signature restaurant, and a pool bar and grill. Wellness will sit at the centre of the resort, anchored by a 750 square metre spa with four treatment rooms, a gym, and both indoor and outdoor pools with expansive decks. The resort’s dining and wellness spaces reflect a modern, design-led approach that will connect guests to the destination. For events and celebrations, the resort will feature a grand ballroom, a multi-function space, two connected meeting rooms, and an executive boardroom.

The resort’s private residences offer elevated privacy and access to bespoke services and amenities, such as an owner’s lounge, fitness space, and private dining room. Both guests of the hotel and those in the residences will also have access to a championship golf course that was originally designed by legendary golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Sr., in 1994 and is set for a transformation that will preserve its essence. The redesign will be led by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who will reinterpret the course with a contemporary and sustainable vision.
Waldorf Astoria Marbella joins Hilton’s global Waldorf Astoria portfolio of more than 65 hotels trading and pipeline, including the recently reopened Waldorf Astoria New York, Waldorf Astoria Helsinki and Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan, and the upcoming openings of Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé and Waldorf Astoria London Admiralty Arch.
The signing ceremony for Waldorf Astoria Marbella took place in New York on 5 November, attended by Christopher J. Nassetta, president & CEO of Hilton, and Javier Rodríguez, CEO of Higuerón Developments.
