A family-run hotel on the Ayrshire coast is creating around 30 new jobs as it prepares to open a new spa complex early next year.
The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride, owned and operated by SimpsInns, has launched a regional recruitment drive ahead of the opening of its Si Spa facility, which is in the final stages of construction. The expansion forms part of a £3m investment in the site.
Roles available include senior therapist, spa therapist, spa attendant, front-of-house and housekeeping positions, with immediate start dates available. The hotel said the recruitment campaign was aimed at applicants from across Ayrshire.
The investment also includes the addition of 17 new guest suites and bedrooms with sea views, increasing the hotel’s total room count from 23 to 40. The new spa is due to open in early 2026.
Once complete, the spa will include six treatment rooms, a four-person Rasul experience, a thermal area with sauna and steam room, and three experience showers. Outdoor facilities will include a hydro pool, cold bucket, outdoor shower, firepit and seating area overlooking the beach.
The Waterside Hotel is located around 40 minutes from Glasgow and overlooks the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran.
Jack Simpson from SimpsInns said: “We’re now in the final stages of our new £3million spa development at The Waterside, which will see one of the most exciting leisure and tourism developments in Scotland for 2026.
“As we gear up for our official launch early next year, we want to make sure we have the best team of leisure and hospitality professionals we can get, so we’re creating around 30 new roles, including spa therapists, front-of-house and housekeeping staff.”
He added: “The passion and dedication of our team is vital to the continued success of SimpsInns and is why our guests keep coming back. As well as ongoing career development opportunities across all our venues, new recruits will also enjoy a range of discounts for the spa, gym and restaurants.”
SimpsInns is owned by the Irvine-based Simpson family and operates hotels, restaurants, bars, spa, golf and leisure facilities across the Ayrshire coast, including The Gailes Hotel and Spa in Irvine and The Loans Inn in Troon.
