Through a partnership with Shiji Distribution Solutions, Pegasus, a hotel distribution and e-commerce solutions provider, aims to increase its Asia expansion.

Pegasus, a leading provider of hotel distribution and e-commerce solutions, is partnering with Shiji Group, a global technology provider for the hotel, retail, food service and entertainment industries, to expand distribution connectivity into the Asia-Pacific market.

As part of the relationship, Shiji Distribution Solutions will serve as a new connectivity partner to Pegasus. Shiji Distribution Solutions will enable connections to the popular booking platform WeChat, as well as third party distribution from the Shiji Demand Network of global and regional distribution partners to support the increased Pegasus’ market penetration into the Asia Pacific region.

Launched in 2006, Shiji Distribution Solutions is now the world’s leading facilitator for global businesses looking to connect to global hospitality markets including China and APAC. It offers future-proofed distribution solutions, including a real-time switch and travel agent booking portal, omni-channel content distribution including visual content distribution, and custom-built WeChat booking engines.

“We are excited to partner with Shiji, one of the largest and most respected providers of software solutions and services for the hospitality industry in the world,” said Pegasus CEO Gautam Lulla. “As Pegasus continues its rapid growth as a market leader, we are confident that our integration with Shiji Distribution Solutions will greatly expand our capabilities in the APAC market. We look forward to a long and mutually productive relationship.”

“APAC is experiencing a rapidly growing hospitality ecosystem, yet the barriers to entry remain challenging,” said Greg Berman, COO of Shiji Distribution Solutions, “We are excited to help Pegasus navigate their expansion into Asia Pacific by providing best-in-class platforms for distribution including switching, channel management, booking solutions and access to over 200 distribution partners.”

Pegasus and Shiji Distribution Solutions integration process will roll out in two phases. In phase one, the integration will be made available to central reservation systems at select hotels, with other properties to be added at a later stage. Eventually, all Pegasus customers will have access to the integration, with a specific target to be announced at a later date.

Following the announcement of the merger of Travel Tripper and Pegasus in February 2019, the new Pegasus is moving forward with an expanded platform that combines Travel Tripper’s award-winning CRS, booking engine and e-commerce solutions with Pegasus’ GDS and global sales solutions and cutting-edge business intelligence tools.
