HYATT STRENGTHENS SOUTHWEST ASIA PORTFOLIO: Hyatt Hotels Corp. is strengthening its Southwest Asia portfolio and expanding its footprint in Nepal with the signing of its fourth Hyatt-branded hotel in the country. A Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Veda Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., part of the Golyan Group, for Hyatt Regency Lumbini. Located on the banks of the Dano River in Lumbini, the hotel will be situated within driving distance from the pilgrimage destination, Mayadevi Temple, the Gautam Buddha International Airport and the Nepal-India border. Scheduled to open by 2028, the hotel will span 11 acres and feature 175 rooms, dining venues, a fitness center, spa, an outdoor pool and events spaces. Currently, Hyatt’s India and Southwest Asia portfolio consists of 52 properties — 50 in India and two in Nepal — under nine brands.
COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT OPENS IN NEVADA: Galaxy Hotels Group has opened a new-build Courtyard by Marriott Reno Sparks in northern Nevada. The four-story, 127-room hotel is located near the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. The hotel includes an indoor pool, a fitness center, restaurant, communal lobby, outdoor courtyard with firepit, a grab-and-go market and a meeting room and one collaboration room offering a total of 845 square feet of space. Frisco, Texas-based Galaxy Hotels, currently operates hotels across nine states in the U.S.
KS HOTELS, HMD ASIA ACQUIRE IN CAMBODIA: KS Hotels and HMD Asia have acquired two La Résidence hotels — La Résidence Phou Vao and La Résidence D’Angkor — in Cambodia. Both the hotels were earlier owned and managed by Belmond. La Résidence Phou Vao is located within the UNESCO Heritage region of Luang Prabang, Laos and will operate under the new management of HMD Asia. Located on the riverside of Siem Reap, La Résidence D’Angkor is currently closed for renovation and will reopen in Q4 2025 under management of HMD Asia. HMD Asia is owned by Cambodian entrepreneur Sokoun Chanpreda and is managed by executive director Anthony Lark.
IHCL ADDS TO INDIAN PORTFOLIO: Indian Hotels Co. (IHCL) has added to its Indian portfolio with the opening of La Estoria, Goa-IHCL SeleQtions. Located in the coastal village of Candolim in Goa, the showcases a blend of Goan-Portuguese design elements. All 122 rooms of the hotel have a private balcony overlooking the seaside. Amenities include a restaurant, bar, fitness center, pool and a spa. With this new addition, IHCL now has 16 hotels in Goa, including four under development. Since opening its first hotel, The Taj Mahal Palace, in Mumbai in 1903, IHCL has grown its portfolio to include 350 hotels, including 118 under development globally.
