Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of its first Radisson RED hotel in Ireland, located in Galway as part of the Crown Square development. The Radisson RED Galway joined Radisson RED’s growing portfolio of over 85 hotels in operation and development.
Located close to Galway’s mainline railway station, the Radisson RED Galway offers 177 rooms, each incorporating art, music and fashion. The eight-storey building, designed by Henry J Lyons Architects, will overlook Galway Bay and the Clare Hills from its rooftop bar and restaurant. The central feature of the space is an interactive bar, complemented by a lounge area.
The hotel is equipped to host meetings and events, with over 400 square metres of dedicated space. A 300 square metre multi-purpose boardroom, which can be split into two meeting rooms, and a 200 square metre meeting room offer flexibility for a variety of event formats. More specifically, the hotel features nine meeting rooms, including the Tribe Suite, which can accommodate up to 220 guests in a theater-style setting. The space is equipped with modern audiovisual technology, making it an ideal location for conferences, presentations, and seminars. The Writers Room, a semi-private networking space, fosters creativity and social interaction, while the ground floor meeting rooms provide a more intimate setting for smaller gatherings.
Moreover, Radisson RED Galway offers two main dining venues. The Claddagh Bar & Grill, located on the ground floor, serves a dining experience with a focus on local Irish ingredients, while the restaurant features design elements inspired by Irish culture. For those seeking a dining experience with panoramic views of Galway Bay, Lena’s Rooftop Bar & Restaurant is situated on the hotel’s top floor. It offers cocktails and a modern take on traditional Irish dishes.
The project, representing an investment of €40 million, is being developed by the Rhatigan Group and built by JJ Rhatigan & Company. The Rhatigan Group, which is already responsible for the development of the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and the Dublin Royal Convention Centre, continues to expand its hotel and event offering in Ireland.
