COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT IN ATLANTA CHANGES HANDS: McKibbon Equities has closed on the acquisition of the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Buford Mall of Georgia in Atlanta. The purchase price was not disclosed. The 110-key hotel was sold by Hotel Equities. Synovus Bank provided debt funding for the deal. Hunter Hotel Advisors represented the seller. Built in 2009, the hotel is located off Interstate 85 north of Atlanta and close to attractions like the Mall of Georgia, Lake Lanier and The Exchange@Gwinnett. The hotel’s guestrooms and public spaces will undergo renovation, which will be overseen by McKibbon Places, McKibbon’s construction and renovation unit. The hotel will be operated by McKibbon Hospitality. The deal marks the second purchase completed by McKibbon Income Fund I, a real estate investment fund focused on acquiring select-service and extended-stay properties. The fund acquired the Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater/St. Petersburg-Ulmerton Road in August 2023.
WYNDHAM OPENS DOLCE HOTEL NEAR PARIS: Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened its latest hotel, Dolce by Wyndham Versailles – Domaine du Montcel in France. Situated in the outskirts of Paris in the Domaine du Montcel Park and close to the famed Palace of Versailles, the resort sits within an estate in the Bièvre Valley. The 178-room property was once the residence of the Oberkampf-Mallet family in the late 1700s and has been renovated to preserve the historic buildings, gardens and monuments. The upscale, luxury resort includes 14 hectares of gardens, two restaurants, a bar with a terrace, a spa and wellness center along with a conference center with 18 meeting rooms.
HYATT ADDS TWO HOTELS IN NEW ORLEANS: Hyatt Hotels Corp. has grown its presence in New Orleans with the openings of Maison Métier and The Barnett, which have the Hyatt portfolio as affiliated properties. Housed in a building which opened in 1908, the Maison Métier (formerly Maison de la Luz) is a 67-room Parisian luxury guesthouse. The Barnett (formerly Ace Hotel New Orleans) brings Art Deco and French Modernism influences to the Warehouse District and features a live music venue. The hotels will become a part of Hyatt’s Independent Collection and participate in the World of Hyatt loyalty program later this year. Both the hotels are owned by The Domain Companies and managed by HRI Hospitality. Hyatt’s total portfolio encompasses over 1,300 properties across 78 countries.
PIVOT TO MANAGE THE SCARLET HOTEL: Pivot, the lifestyle operating arm of Davidson Hospitality Group, has been selected by Goldenrod Companies to manage The Scarlet, Lincoln, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Lincoln, Neb. This is the only hotel in partnership with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is located on the Nebraska Innovation Campus. The hotel has 154 rooms, a signature restaurant, coffee shop, lobby bar, rooftop bar and 1,200 square meters of meeting space. In Nebraska, Pivot also operates Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel in Omaha.
