DISTRICT HOSPITALITY ACQUIRES HILTON WASHINGTON DC: District Hospitality Partners has acquired the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel and Executive Meeting Center. The seller and purchase price details were not disclosed. The 315-room, full-service hotel adds to District Hospitality’s portfolio of upscale hotels across the U.S. The hotel backs up to the Twinbrook Metro station in the Washington Metro Area and is situated at the confluence of significant demand generators, including U.S. and state government institutions. Directly adjacent to the hotel is 450,000 square feet of retail space and around 1,000 residential units currently under construction or in the planning stages. The new owners will be renovating the guestrooms, bathrooms and corridors, which are in addition to the former owner’s recently completed renovation of the meeting space and common areas. Along with a fitness center, business center, restaurant, café and bar, the property accommodates business and life cycle events with roughly 40,000 square feet of event space, which includes 26 rooms including a 10,000-square-foot ballroom.

THE LUXURY COLLECTION TO OPEN IN MACAO: Marriott International and Sands China Ltd. have inked a deal to launch The Luxury Collection in Macao. Slated to open in January 2025, Londoner Grand, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Macao will be located in Macao’s Cotai Strip. The hotel is 4.9 kilometers away from the international airport and close to the city’s entertainment, shopping and dining districts. The hotel will feature 2,405 rooms and suites and five dining venues. Guests can choose bay suites with terraces, kid rooms, media rooms and private pools. Interiors have been designed by Peter Silling & Associates.

HEI ADDS TO MANAGEMENT PORTFOLIO: HEI Hotels & Resorts has added Beacon Hotel & Corporate Quarters to its management portfolio of luxury, upper-upscale and upscale independent and branded properties in the U.S., which now totals more than 100 properties. Located close to the White House in Washington D.C., the hotel features 100 rooms, with 58 rooms with kitchenettes. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar, fitness center, gym and more than 10,000 square feet of event space. The hotel will soon undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation, which will see updates to guestrooms and bathrooms, revitalization of the dining outlets and refurbishment of the meeting spaces and fitness center. Norwalk, Conn.-based HEI currently manages six hotels in the DMV region.

HYATT TO DEBUT ANDAZ IN AUSTRALIA: Hyatt Hotels has entered into agreements with Destination Gold Coast Consortium to debut its Andaz brand in Australia and the Pacific region. Destination Gold Coast Consortium is a joint venture between parent company, The Star Entertainment Group, and its two partners, Far East Consortium and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. Andaz Gold Coast will be part of an integrated resort masterplan, The Star Gold Coast in Gold Coast, Australia. Anticipated to open in mid-2025, the resort will be located at The Star Gold Coast, a mixed-use development on Broadbench Island. The hotel will occupy floors six to 21 of the 65-story tower and offer 202 rooms and suites. Overlooking Broadbench, the hotel will also feature a fitness center, three dining concepts, an outdoor pool deck on level six with a cocktail bar and a beach club with cabanas and al fresco dining. The hotel’s architecture has been designed by Australia-based DBI Architects, with interiors by Hachem.
