tommie Hollywood is rebranding under Marriott International’s Tribute Portfolio. Formerly under Hyatt, the lifestyle hotel has been renamed as Hollywood Volume, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.
Originally opened in 2021, the reimagined hotel has been designed by Studio Collective. All of the 212 rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors and offer views of the city or Hollywood Hills. The top floor of the hotel offers seven one-bedroom suites, with separate living areas, 12-foot ceilings and vistas.
Located in Hollywood’s Vinyl District, the hotel is managed by Ten Five Hospitality. The addition of the hotel helps Marriott grow its presence in Hollywood, with the newly refurbished W Hollywood located just blocks away from Hollywood Volume.
Despite the rebrand, the hotel’s culinary and nightlife offerings remain the same. Designed to offer “unscripted LA experiences,” guests can enjoy late-night menus and locally-sourced snacks at the Volume Café. In-room amenities include a pre-game package, disposable cameras and Volume dream journals.
The hotel will host pop-up parties and art installations in collaboration with local artists. The hotel will also host a social hour every Tuesday to Thursday evening, featuring complimentary canapés in the lobby.
Ka’teen, the Yucatan-inspired restaurant led by Chef Wes Avila of Guerilla Tacos, will continue to be the hotel’s signature dining destination. Spread across more than 5,000 square feet, the venue is inspired by the jungles of Tulum and is a tribute to the Yucatan Peninsula’s cuisine.
The rooftop will maintain its country bar and pool, inspired by the American aesthetic and the 1970s vintage Palm Springs with the charm of Pioneertown. The hotel also offers a meeting room on the lobby level, which can accommodate up to 100 persons.
Although Hyatt has been adding hotels in Los Angeles in the recent years, the company is also losing properties Hollywood. Besides losing tommie Hollywood, Hyatt might also be losing its Thompson Hollywood, which is expected to rebrand as a Marriott Autograph Collection property. While Hyatt has not officially commented on tommie Hollywood’s transition and the rumored Thompson Hollywood’s rebranding, these hotels could be leaving Hyatt in relation to a contract dispute over perimeter rules for several brands. Following the acquisition of Dream Hotel Group in 2023, Hyatt has three hotels — Dream Hollywood, tommie Hollywood and Thompson Hollywood — all in the same area, with the Dream Hollywood right across the street from the other two properties, the report added.
