Hilton is set to increase its presence in Egypt with plans to open 25 new hotels across the country. This expansion will bring Hilton’s total number of properties in Egypt to over 40 in the coming years. The new properties will include a mix of Hilton’s established brands and new additions such as Curio Collection by Hilton and Tapestry Collection by Hilton, marking the first time these lifestyle brands will be introduced to Egypt.

Key openings and signings

The new openings include several important signings. The Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi is expected to open in early 2025, featuring rooms with views of the Nile and the Pyramids. Another major signing is the Hilton Cairo Historic City, which is planned for 2027 at a UNESCO World Heritage site in Old Cairo. This hotel will offer 255 rooms and suites. Additionally, DoubleTree by Hilton Cairo Downtown is expected to open in 2028, featuring 57 guest rooms and suites, various dining options, corporate facilities, as long as wellness amenities.

In addition to the city hotels, Hilton is expanding into key resort destinations. Hilton’s first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Egypt will open in Sharm El Sheikh, bringing the brand’s design and offerings to the Red Sea coast. It will feature 165 guestrooms and suites, a fitness center, outdoor pools and five dining options. Hilton Marsa Alam Marina, an all-inclusive resort with 750 rooms and a range of dining and leisure options, is also set to open, targeting beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts.

Introduction of lifestyle brands

Hilton’s growth also includes the introduction of its lifestyle brands to the Egyptian market. The Tapestry Collection by Hilton and Curio Collection will both debut in Egypt, offering distinctive experiences in sought-after locations. The Curio Collection by Hilton property in Marsa Alam is planned for 2028 and will feature 50 villas and upscale amenities. The Tapestry Collection’s Abu Dabbab Lodge in Marsa Alam, scheduled to open in 2025, will be an eco-friendly resort with a diving center, 90 rooms, four dining venues,  two swimming pools, a fitness center and various recreational facilities.

“Egypt is our longest standing market in the MEA region, where we’ve been operating for more than 60 years. We are excited to continue building on this legacy as we accelerate our growth, and we look forward to working closely with our valued owners to provide guests with reliable and friendly stays across the country. The debut of our lifestyle brands in Egypt marks an important milestone, allowing guests to truly immerse themselves in the rich experiences the country has to offer.” – Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Middle East & Africa (MEA), Hilton

Expansion in resort areas

In addition to city-center hotels, Hilton is expanding its portfolio in Egypt’s resort destinations. Hilton Marsa Alam Marina will be an all-inclusive resort located on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. The resort will offer a variety of activities, including water sports, diving, and snorkeling.

Hilton is also expanding its presence on Egypt’s North Coast with the planned opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Alamein Marina Valley in 2027. This hotel will offer 182 rooms, restaurants, a fitness center, and flexible meeting spaces.

Renovations and local engagement

Hilton is investing in the renovation of several of its existing properties across Egypt, including the Ramses Hilton, Hilton Pyramids Golf, and Hilton Cairo Heliopolis. The Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort will also undergo extensive upgrades, including the addition of new guest rooms.

The expansion is expected to create over 5,000 new jobs across Egypt, supporting local communities and contributing to the development of the hospitality workforce. Hilton has also launched a hospitality school in Egypt, partnering with universities to train and recruit young professionals for the industry.
