FCM Travel, the flagship large market business travel division of the Flight Centre Travel Group, has appointed Martina Groenegres as the new managing director for Germany.

Groenegres brings with her nearly 30 years of experience in the aviation and travel industry having held various positions at Lufthansa, along with being the Chairwoman of APJC Germany for IATA, and board memberships for SwissCham China and the German Chamber of Commerce in China.

“I’m truly excited to take on this role as it represents a unique opportunity to lead one of the most dynamic and innovative teams in the global travel industry,” said Groenegres.

“With FCM’s reputation for excellence and deep commitment to delivering personalised, technology-driven travel solutions across its 95 countries, I’m eager to leverage my leadership skills to support their efforts, enhance service offerings to our customers, and continue strengthening our position in the German market.

“I’m also looking forward to working alongside our clients, understanding their evolving needs, and driving forward solutions that simplify their travel programs and optimise their business outcomes.”

She added: “With the travel landscape constantly shifting, and with FCM’s reach worldwide, its commitment to sustainability and innovation is something I deeply value.

“The ability to be at the forefront of shaping not just business travel, but the future of travel as a whole, is incredibly inspiring.”

FCM Travel managing director for Europe, Andy Helgley, welcomed the appointment and said the experience possessed by Groenegres would be hugely beneficial to the business.

“Germany is of strategic importance to us and I’ve no doubt Martina will drive our business to bigger and better things – her extensive experience and knowledge globally is undeniable,” said Hegley.

“She’s known in the industry for being a senior global travel leader with a breadth of management experience in all commercial disciplines including strategy, government relations, sales and services in the aviation, travel and transport industry,” he said.

“Corporate travel is critically important for businesses in Germany and throughout Europe to survive and thrive and with a proven track record in developing and transforming companies, our customers can expect an even better experience than before, while also targeting new business wins.”
