Head Chef Luke Ahearne, Restaurateur Daniel Kourkarskikh

The Mediterranean bistro in London’s Marylebone has been awarded a highly coveted Michelin Star in less than a year since its opening.

Lita, the modern European bistro in London’s Marylebone, has been awarded a prestigious Michelin Star by the Michelin Guide Awards, marking an extraordinary achievement for the restaurant in less than a year since opening.

Founded by restaurateur Daniel Koukarskikh and helmed by acclaimed Irish Head Chef Luke Ahearne, Lita has quickly made a name for itself in London’s dynamic dining scene, earning recognition for its innovative and refined approach to modern European cuisine.

The Michelin Star is one of the most sought-after accolades in the culinary world, awarded to restaurants that demonstrate exceptional quality, creativity, and consistency. Lita’s inclusion in this elite group reflects the dedication, passion, and vision of its team, as well as its commitment to delivering an outstanding dining experience.

Daniel Koukarskikh, owner of Lita, expressed his pride in the achievement saying: “From the very beginning, our goal was to create a restaurant that showcased exceptional produce, craftsmanship, and hospitality but receiving a Michelin Star in under one year is beyond anything we could have imagined. This recognition is a testament to the incredible work of our team and the unwavering support of our guests; they are our priority, and they are the reason we strive for the best every single day.”

Head Chef Luke Ahearne, whose culinary vision has been instrumental in shaping Lita’s success, added:“Dreams do come true. I’ve wanted this since the age of 12; it’s an absolute honour to be awarded a Michelin Star. Every dish we serve at Lita is a reflection of our passion for cooking, our respect for ingredients, and our drive to create a unique experience for our guests. This award is a huge moment for my amazing team, and I’m incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. We’re just getting started, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store. Thank you”.

Since its opening last March, Lita has quickly established itself as a must-visit dining destination, known for its bold flavours, thoughtful sourcing and welcoming atmosphere. Reinterpreting traditional dishes with a contemporary palette, Chef Luke’s menu is a celebration of Southern Europe synonymous with his “Pan con tomate with Cantabrian anchovies”, “Strozzapreti, Aylesbury duck ragu with 36 month aged Parmesan” and “Native Scottish lobster baked rice, Devon crab, cuttlefish and aioli”.

The Michelin Star accreditation cements Lita’s reputation as one of the city’s most exciting dining destinations, celebrating the artistry and craftsmanship that have defined its journey from day one. The Michelin Star award comes just three months after Lita was recognised by the prestigious Michelin Guide.

Lita is located at 7-9 Paddington Street. For more information or to make a reservation, please visit www.litamarylebone.com.
