Leonardo Hotels continues its expansion in Italy with the acquisition of the former Hotel dei Borgia, now renamed Leonardo Boutique Hotel Rome Monti. Additionally, a hotel under the Master Collection brand has recently opened, while the NYX Hotel Rome, currently under renovation, is set to open in summer 2025.

The Leonardo Boutique Hotel Rome Monti is located in the Monti district, near the Colosseum and the Fori Imperiali. The hotel features 80 rooms, a breakfast area, two meeting rooms, and a wellness area with a sauna and hot tub.

The Italian market is experiencing strong growth for Leonardo Hotels Central Europe. According to Yoram Biton, Managing Director of Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, Italy is one of the most important destinations for the group.

The acquisition of the Leonardo Boutique Rome Monti not only strengthens the group’s presence in Rome but also reaffirms its strategic investment in the development of the Italian market. Yoram Biton also expressed his gratitude to Tamar Cohen, the group’s legal counsel, for her legal support in coordinating strategic operations, including the acquisition of this hotel.

“The Leonardo Boutique Rome Monti marks another significant step in the development of our presence in Italy and solidifies our position in a key city like Rome, a hub for international tourism and a strategic centre for business. The hotel, situated in the heart of the picturesque Monti district, just steps from Rome’s most famous historical and cultural landmarks, offers a comprehensive and unique range of services that will provide both leisure and business travellers with an exceptional experience.” – Jan Heringa, Vice President Development and Project Management at Leonardo Hotels Central Europe
