Accor, Invel Real Estate and Prodea Investments have signed an agreement to bring Hotel Bellevue Cortina d’Ampezzo into Emblems Collection, marking the brand’s first property in Italy. The hotel, located in the Dolomites, will undergo a transformation before reopening as a luxury alpine retreat.
The property, on Corso Italia, Cortina’s central promenade, was originally built in the late 19th century and will be redesigned by Italian architecture firm pconp, with interiors by Tihany Design. The vision integrates alpine elements with contemporary details, incorporating locally sourced stone, wood and handcrafted textiles inspired by the surrounding landscape.
The hotel will feature 80 rooms, including 27 suites with mountain views. A 5,400-square-foot spa will provide wellness experiences with three treatment rooms, an indoor and outdoor pool and a relaxation area designed for post-ski recovery.
Dining options will include a main restaurant and the Bellevue Terrace, offering seasonal menus. The venue aims to become a social hub, combining an alpine atmosphere with a culinary experience influenced by regional ingredients.
Paul Rosenberg, regional vice president of luxury brand development at Accor, said, “Cortina d’Ampezzo is the ideal setting for Emblems Collection’s debut in Italy. More than a luxury hotel, this project will redefine alpine hospitality in one of Europe’s most iconic mountain destinations.”
The renovation will emphasize sustainability, aligning with Accor’s Luxury & Lifestyle Sustainability Standards. Energy-efficient systems and responsible design practices will be integrated to minimize environmental impact.
Marianna Papachristophorou, partner and head of hospitality at Invel Real Estate, said, “We are committed to preserving heritage while embracing innovation. Our selection of the Emblems brand reflects our dedication to creating a lasting legacy.”
The Emblems Collection specializes in conversions, positioning historic and independent properties within Accor’s luxury portfolio. With two Emblems hotels already in development across Southern Europe, the brand continues to grow within the region.
Once complete, Hotel Bellevue Cortina d’Ampezzo will offer an elevated alpine experience, combining modern design with the natural beauty of the Dolomites.
