GFI Hospitality announced the transition of the former James NoMad Hotel to Hotel Seville NoMad, joining The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The transition includes a property refresh that will restore the hotel’s early 20th-century design while introducing new guest experiences, a redesigned lobby bar and updated amenities.

“Hotel Seville NoMad bridges New York’s storied past and its elevated present, offering a dynamic destination where timeless elegance meets modern luxury,” said Allen Gross, chairman of GFI Hospitality. “Whether locals are stopping in for expertly crafted cocktails and sophisticated dishes or visitors from across the globe are seeking a refined stay, we look forward to offering our guests an unforgettable experience in the heart of New York City.”

The hotel, housed in a Beaux-Arts building constructed in 1903, will maintain its historic architectural elements while incorporating contemporary design. The 348-room property will introduce redesigned guest rooms with vintage-inspired furnishings, gray and blue tones and a selection of artwork reflecting travel themes. The lobby will feature Il Bar, a new residential-inspired space centered around a cascading stone bar designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen. The bar will offer cocktails and small plates.

Scarpetta, located within the hotel, will continue to serve Italian cuisine emphasizing locally sourced ingredients. Additionally, The Seville, a speakeasy-style bar, will offer live jazz and DJ performances. The hotel will also provide event spaces, including a ballroom and private meeting rooms with catering from Scarpetta.
